The Arizona Department of Education - Exceptional Student Services first developed Traumatic Brain Injury Resource Teams in 2002 to provide technical assistance to local schools in support of students with traumatic brain injury. A nine-part training series was conducted in Southern Arizona from September 2002 through December 2003 for over 40 educators and school-based service providers. Training in Central and Northern Arizona began in early 2004.
