La Asociación de Arizona en Daño de la Médula Espinal (AzSCIA por sus siglas en inglés) trabaja para hacer posible que personas con SCI elijan y lleven acabo acciones que les permitan alcanzar su más alto nivel de independencia y realización personal. Con financiamiento principal del Consejo del Gobernador de Arizona en Daño Cerebral y Espinal, AzSCIA provee programas, información, educación y apoyo para mejorar la vida de personas con SCI. This 3-day conference event will focus on best practices and cross-sector collaboration in support of the 625,000+ Active Duty, Guard, Reserve and Veteran families living throughout Arizona. This event promises to be informative, connective and experiential!


Statewide Symposium in Support of Military Families: Post-Symposium Clinical Track (PDF, 510 KB)    
Providers throughout Arizona are invited to attend this one-day training focused on building Arizona’s capacity to serve, support and care for the 625,000+ military and veteran families living throughout our state. This training will include: 1) Assessment & intervention strategies for providing culturally competent care to the military and veteran population; 2) An orientation for using a “military lens” when viewing presenting symptoms in service members, veterans and/or families; 3) Special emphasis on co-occurring disorders (PTSD, TBI, substance use, suicidality); 4) Information on resources available in the military, government and community.

This training will include: 1) Knowledge of life cycle spirituality issues experienced by military and veteran families. 2) Skills for one-on-one spiritual care. 3) Practical approaches for engaging our faith-based communities in supporting military and veteran families. 4) Cross-sector networking opportunities for Chaplains and faith-based communities to connect in support of families.

Educators and child-focused providers throughout Arizona are invited to attend this one-day training focused on building Arizona’s capacity to serve, support and care for the children of the 625,000+ military and veteran families living throughout Arizona. The MCEC® LINN™ Practicum will provide: 1) Basic knowledge on the effects of military/combat-related illness, injury or death of a parent on children. 2) Methods for building resilience and encouraging the courage of children. 3) Information on existing community resources that provide sustained support to children experiencing trauma and loss. 4) Creation of a customized training module for participant’s various community sectors using lessons learned.
