Independent Living Rehabilitation Services


The Independent Living Rehabilitation Services program provides four core services: independent living skills training, advocacy, peer support, information and referrals. The program, which is part of the Arizona Department of Economic Security Rehabilitation Services Administration, may also provide adaptive aids and devices, counseling, skills training, and a variety of therapies for individuals with spinal cord injuries based on eligibility.

This private, non-profit corporation provides services to persons with disabilities in Phoenix, Arizona. ABIL's programs include information and referral, peer support, home modifications, independent living skills Instruction and many others.

Arizona Coalition for Military Families
The Arizona Coalition for Military Families is a public/private partnership focused on building Arizona’s statewide capacity to serve and support all Service Members, Veterans and their families. The Coalition works to foster cross-sector collaboration between the military, government and community.

Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS)
Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is Arizona’s Medicaid program, and the State of Arizona's health care program for persons who do not qualify for Medicaid.

Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS)

Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), Arizona's Medicaid long term care program, assists those who are elderly or blind, physically disabled, or have a developmental disability and need nursing home level care. However, program participants do not have to reside in a nursing home. Many ALTCS participants live in their own homes or an assisted living facility and receive needed in-home services.

ASSIST! to Independence
Located in Tuba City, Arizona, ASSIST! enhances the quality of life and community life for disabled American Indian consumers by maximizing independence, improving functional skills and providing culturally relevant services.

Other resources that can be useful include automobile insurance, medical coverage, and COBRA, which provides temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates in specific instances to former employees, retirees, spouses and dependent children.
